The Disco at the End of the Universe
@ GPS Galleery, London

work to see

Dear friends,

I am delighted to invite you to our upcoming exhibition

“The Disco at the End of the Universe”

opening on 21 October 2025 at GPS Gallery in Soho, London

together with the Androtechne Collective.

At the edge of the universe, where old gods fall and new myths are born, the pulse of a disco beats. Amid climate collapse and political fracture, we choose not paralysis, but movement — light, rhythm, and the courage to celebrate in the face of endings.

For this exhibition I am showing my new series “Let the old Gods die in Dignity”. The works grew out of my recent collaboration with the Salzburg Easter Festival and my encounter with Wagner’s greatest drama, Der Ring des Nibelungen. Reality itself seems to unfold as both drama and travesty — and I wanted to capture this double edge. My pieces embrace collapse as spectacle, fragments and narratives torn apart, classics flashing in the dark. Even the end, I believe, must still serve a look.

I would be thrilled to see you at the

Private View on Tuesday, 21 October, from 17:30 to 20:30.

We will also celebrate with a

Silent Disco on Sunday, 26 October, from 14:00 to 17:30,

and I look forward to sharing more thoughts during the

Artists Talk on Thursday, 30 October, from 18:00 to 20:30.

Exhibition Dates: 21 October – 2 November 2025
Venue: GPS Gallery, 36 Great Pulteney Street, Soho, London W1F 9NS
Let us come together at the end of the universe — to dance, to talk, to imagine new beginnings.

Warmly,
Mathias Vef
